Novel nucleic acid chemical modifications for the development of in vitro diagnostics using synthetic biology approaches
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Birmingham
Department Name: School of Chemistry
Abstract
Developing new chemical modifications and methodologies for nucleic acids that will be coupled with new and existing diagnostic platforms. This will include the use of Linear Diagnostics' patented platform which uses synthetic biology to modify bacteriophage to recognise targets of interest in a wide range of sectors. These sectors include agriculture, medicine, food safety, defence and security, veterinary and environmental.
