Abstract

The protection offered by the right to fair trial to the privilege against self-incrimination in
juvenile criminal justice will be considered, focusing on the United Kingdom and The
Gambia as case studies. Rules and practice on evidence admission will be considered in the
context of human rights standards and guidance, additionally focusing on the implications of
these on 'convergence thesis'.
