Effect of Climate Change on Micronutrient Cycling
Lead Research Organisation:
Imperial College London
Department Name: Earth Science and Engineering
Abstract
I study the cycling of micronutrients in soil solution. I am particularly interested in understanding how the natural processes operating in these systems are likely to respond to the effects of climate change, namely an increase in groundwater salinity in many coastal regions of the globe. Understanding these potential impacts has significant consequences for both food security and ecology.
The focus of my research will be on the complexation of first row transition metals with siderophores.
