Abstract

This challenging and exciting project will deliver new paradigms in the formation of ferrocene-containing, redox-active ring and linear compounds and balances adventurous fundamental chemistry with potentially significant technological application within the area of molecular charge transport. The overall aim is to explore quantum-interference-based engineering of parallel arrays of molecules, molecular linkage and electrodes in order to optimise the principal parameters involved in the conversion of waste heat to electricity using the Seebeck effect.
