A Study of Magnetars - The Most Magnetic Neutron Stars
Lead Research Organisation:
University College London
Department Name: Mullard Space Science Laboratory
Abstract
* Model neutron star accretion with a multipolar magnetic field and test simulated results
against observation to find out whether ultra-luminous x-rays can be explained by this
process.
* Investigate how a magnetar environment produces x-ray and gamma ray bursts through
multivariable analysis and compare results with the theoretical predictions of the origin.
