Abstract

Compound semiconductor (CS) materials are a key enabling technology underpinning the operation of communications including the internet, smart phones and satellite communications/GPS, as well as tackling new challenges in energy efficiency, advanced healthcare and biotechnology. In this project, we aim to exploit CS nanostructure and technology such as sensors, emitters, and integrated photonic devices with optoelectronics, nanophotonics, plasmonics and metamaterials paradigm. This project will use cutting-edge facilities and equipment to conduct research in areas associated with epitaxy, nanofabrication and modelling of CS materials including III-As, Sb, N.
