Integrated electronics and sensors in lithium ion batteries

The proposed model of the smart battery embedded system will be simulated, constructed and tested. Once the system responses are desirable, a prototype will be manufactured according to the specification defined at the start of the project. Similar tests will then be applied to the prototype, and any discrepancies detected between the performance of the real system and the simulation will be used to improve the model. Power line communication and internal processing will enable the cells to operate as smart cells.

This project fits within the EPSRC Energy theme as focusses around creating a methodology for investigating energy storage systems.
