Abstract
My research will examine the social structures and networks of Anglophone women in China during the late Qing period, focusing on their social and personal connections. By establishing a clear framework for understanding the social context and connections of these women in China at the end of the Qing period, this project will reveal more about both the opportunities available to them, and the restrictions which limited them. The project will require a combination of quantitative, qualitative and historical methodologies to obtain a clear picture of their social lives.
