Cyclotron Production and Radiochemical Purification of Emerging Radionuclides for Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Birmingham
Department Name: School of Physics and Astronomy
Abstract
The project aims to address some of the challenges in the use of radionuclides for
cancer diagnosis and treatment by optimising existent and developing novel methods
for cyclotron production and radiochemical production of emerging medical nuclides.
Recently, emerging alpha-emitting radiotherapeutic nuclides have attracted attention
together with the theranostic approach involving the application of lanthanide
radioisotopes with complimentary properties for PET/SPECT imaging and targeted alpha
therapy.
