Decay properties of neutron-rich nuclei near the N=126 shell closure
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Edinburgh
Department Name: Sch of Physics and Astronomy
Abstract
This research aims to determine decay properties, such as half-lives and neutron emission probabilities, of neutron-rich nuclei around the 3rd r process peak (which corresponds to the N=126 shell closure). The data will be taken from an experiment that is part of the BRIKEN (Beta-delayed neutron measurements at RIKEN) campaign based at the Rare Isotope Beam Facility at the RIKEN Nishina Centre in Japan.
