Abstract
The project involves exploiting the DESI Bright Galaxy Survey which will start taking survey data in 2021. The ultimate aim is analyze both the latest hydro-dynamical cosmological N-body simulations and DESI BGS data to quantify and understand the dependence of galaxy properties on local environment. This should give us the ability to distinguish which feedback processes are most important in shaping the current day galaxy population.
Analysis will begin with the existing BGS commissioning data.
