Photophysics and applications of spin-coupled systems comprised of organic semiconductors and lanthanide-doped nanoparticles

Abstract

The ability to control and manipulate triplet-exciton dynamics is of paramount importance for applications in the realm of sustainable optoelectronic materials and processes. My project will investigate a new paradigm in the field of triplet control, in which triplet-excitons are manipulated and controlled by electronically and spin coupling organic semiconductors to lanthanide-doped nanoparticles. This new strategy has the potential to offer more opportunities than conventional triplet-exciton control methods and exploring its fundamental photophysics is expected to open doors for applications in and beyond the field of optoelectronics.
