Abstract
CDT - Taught Year 1 - The exact topic of this project will be developed with HiETA, but it is anticipated that work will be undertaken in the development of an optimised burner/component design that is best constructed using additive manufacturing. Again, this is expected to be in the context of using alternative fuels. For instance components with integrated flow channels for improved heat transfer, or the use of sintered mesh as a flame holder and emissions reduction. This project may incorporate numerical simulations using CFD, and it is anticipated that research will primarily be design-based. Full description to be confirmed in Year 2.
