Profiadau Dysgwyr a'u rhieni o unedau trochi'r Gymraeg / Learners' and Parents' Experiences of Welsh Language Immersion Units

This project will focus on language immersion provision for learners whose first exposure to the Welsh language occurs at a stage during/after Year 1. It will explore learners' and parents' experiences of Welsh language immersion units. In the interview, the applicant identified different methods they could use for this study (e.g. interviews, surveys and observations). However, COVID-19 might impact on the methods and sampling strategy that could be used for this study. No specific issues of researcher safety are anticipated, but the usual safeguarding measures e.g. lone researchers working in remote areas will be undertaken. Enhanced ethical approval will be required due to the involvement of children below the age of 16. Any identifiable details will be anonymised in published material. Detailed age-appropriate information about the project will be provided to participants to gain their informed consent. Parental consent will need to be gained for the children.
