Emerging knowledge of flooding in Scotland's flower industries: A mixed-method approach
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Southampton
Department Name: Sch of Ocean and Earth Science
Abstract
Scotland's flower industry plays a vital role in this project, particularly in daffodil production. However, challenges such as rising flooding levels jeopardize its sustainability and affect associated sectors. Industry professionals are encouraged to adapt to ensure survival and have the capacity to influence policy and community engagement. Chloe, under the supervision of lead advisor Ka-Kin, a social and cultural anthropologist, will conduct ethnographic and library research on the impact of flooding on Scotland's flower industries for her PhD. Given the nature of this project, it has been confirmed that Chloe does not need an ATAS certificate to conduct research for her PhD.
