Investigating the population of growing supermassive black holes using X-rays surveys combined with Multi-wavelength information

Lead Research Organisation: University of Edinburgh
Department Name: Sch of Physics and Astronomy

Abstract

In this Thesis I evaluate AGN populations using X-ray data, creating multiwavelength catalogues for various samples. I investigate the optical and IR properties of my
samples, with my analyses presenting an updated view of the AGN population as a
whole, shedding light on how it changes over cosmic time.
