Introducing the Gateway to Research Portal

ABOUT

The Gateway to Research (GtR) website has been developed by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) to enable users to search and analyse information about publicly funded research.

This website will be of particular interest to innovative Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), enabling easy access to information about current research projects and outcomes of past projects; it will however also be of interest to other users, such as academic institutions and the general public.

Gateway to Research publishes information from a variety of source systems. This information is not transferred to Gateway to Research on a real-time basis and the information is processed against a set of business rules to determine suitability for publication.

Gateway to Research may not exactly reflect the information shown in the source systems.

It is not possible to change information directly on Gateway to Research. Changes should be made or requested through the usual channels for each system.

Two Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) have been provided as a way of accessing the information directly from other Information Systems – further information can be found here. This allows third parties to link the GtR data to other data sets and analyse the information for their own purposes.

This website is open and free for all to use and has been developed using Open Source, Open Standards and an Open Government Licence (OGL), to enable the code to be reused by third parties.
