Abstract
Simulation is essential to self driving vehicle research, but most published research on the topic avoids the issues of realism and validation of the simulations used in the research. My research is focused on the development of methods to ensure that simulations used to test and create connected self-driving vehicle technology are developed in such a way that ensures they are close enough to reality to be useful for their intended purposes."
