Understanding and measuring residual limb comfort for both prosthesis and non-prosthesis users through co-deigned and user-led approaches

Lead Research Organisation: University of Southampton
Department Name: Sch of Health Sciences

Abstract

The overarching aim of the study is to improve the understanding, management, and measurement of residual limb comfort for both prosthesis and non-prosthesis users in the short and long-term following a lower limb amputation. This will involve systematically reviewing the small body of existing literature and carry out secondary analysis on existing qualitative research to underpin the development of a range of qualitative studies across all stakeholders. This information will be used to co-design and develop new user-led outcome measures to assess residual limb and socket comfort for both prosthetic and non-prosthetics users.
