| Description | This was a grant to support a workshop to provide ideas for a NERC thematic programme. This was successful in that a proposal to NERC for a programme on rheology was put forward. Eventually many aspects were incorporated into the programme and funded. |
| Exploitation Route | This is done via the new programme. |

| Description | This was used to organise a community workshop to scope out ideas of how the deep Earth affects habitability, especially from the point of view of understanding rheology. This lead to development of a NERC Thematic Programme on "Volatiles, Geodynamics, and Solid Earth Control on the Habitabile Planet". |
