Defining mechanisms of T Cell Suppression in the Tumour Microenvironment

Lead Research Organisation: CARDIFF UNIVERSITY
Department Name: School of Medicine

Abstract

Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide accounting for 5 - 10 million deaths per year. This study aims to identify mechanisms through which the anti-tumour potential of the immune system can be exploited for tumour destruction. Such information may provide rationale for refining strategies aimed at cancer immunotherapy for a wide range of malignancies.
