Abstract

This proposed research project aims to theorise a universal intervention for primary schools, which identifies and challenges the role of restrictive gender norms in coercive control, in order to promote healthy relationships and wellbeing. A two stage mixed methods approach will be employed; the first stage will be a survey of teachers and students in five primary schools. The second stage, will be focus groups to further explore and develop themes from the first stage. This study will contribute to current policy being produced under the Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act (2015).
