Shafikov MZ (2019) Unusually Fast Phosphorescence from Ir(III) Complexes via Dinuclear Molecular Design. in The journal of physical chemistry letters

 
Description We synthesised and investigated a series of novel dinuclear triplet emitters and used them to prepare deep red and NIR-emitting OLEDs and light emitting electrochemical cells.
We have studies in great details the photophysical properties and developed a clear understanding of why some dinuclear emitters are better than the others. We provided a theory explaining these structure-property relationships.
Exploitation Route The emitters we have developed are one of the most efficient deep-red emitters known to date. The materials are specifically targeted for application in electroluminescent devices such as organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and light emitting electrochemical cells (LEEC). Therefore, at current stage, the outcomes of the project are most relevant for academic and industrial sectors interested in efficient OLEDs and LEEs electroluminescent devices.
