Abstract
Digital transformation is one of the NHS's main strategies for achieving the Triple Aim of Better Health, Better Healthcare and Better Value, however there is a shortage of suppliers helping to digitally transform mental health services and a gap in the market for digital tools to support MH professionals.
This project will use sensors to produce a digital system which will help support patient safety and wellbeing in large multiple room mental health wards and custodial settings. The research will involve evaluation of various technologies, algorithm development work and testing in various environments. The research will consider complex behaviours (suicidal and self-harm for example) in the design. The work is supported by a number of stakeholders, including NHS MH Trusts, who will contribute to the research.
