Decarbonomics Lateral Expansion - Developing Building Typologies for the Retail and Residential Sectors

Lead Participant: ATKINS LIMITED

Abstract

This project will develop the Decarbonomics service to incorporate retail and residential building typologies.

At 120Mft2, retail constitutes 17% of the total UK commercial buildings footprint. The UK residential property estate is estimated to be the third largest source of national CO2e emissions. Tackling these clear opportunities by scaling our proven methodology will help accelerate the shift to a net zero UK building stock.

The Decarbonomics service provides a data driven portfolio-level approach to enable owners and occupiers of building portfolios of any scale to retrofit and decarbonise their entire estate through the implementation of cost effective and programme optimised net zero pathways. The service helps clients visually benchmark their estate's carbon and develop a personalised roadmap to achieve net zero, while providing the delivery expertise required to bring this to fruition. Digital processes, data and technology have been seamlessly embedded into every aspect of this service to create efficient and intelligent net zero strategies.

It offers a fast and efficient process to enable educated investment decisions to get clients started on their path to a net zero future.

At present, Decarbonomics is focused on logistics, education, and commercial real estate.
