ClOud Marketplace for Media Analysis (COMMA)

Abstract

The COMMA (ClOud-based Marketplace for Media Analysis) project will develop a cloud-based marketplace where media creators and owners can upload their video, text, audio or images to have them analysed and enriched with additional metadata created by state-of-the-art algorithms provided by media analysis experts. Which radio programmes interviewed Nelson Mandela in 1990? How can I find a picture of a relative in a library’s photo archive? Was my music used in the background of that TV programme? These questions can be answered using sophisticated algorithms being developed by researchers around the world, but until now no one has developed an easy to use platform that makes it possible for content owners to take advantage of these advances in an affordable, scalable way or for researchers to monetise their technologies without providing expensive infrastructure, integration and promotion by themselves.
