Coreo - A platform for collecting, improving, managing and maintaining geospatial data

Abstract
"We propose to build a unique platform called Coreo, to enable anyone to build and run geospatial citizen science projects at an affordable price. The platform will not require knowledge of how to code, making it suitable for everyone.
Coreo will provide an entire ecosystem of services:
**Easily design and build your own apps**: One of Coreo's main features is a simple but powerful drag and drop interface to build your app. Coreo produces progressive web apps (PWAs) which are similar to websites with enhanced capabilities for use on smart devices. PWAs represent a significant turning point in app development, and are set to become a mainstream technology, offering some key advantages over traditional apps.
With Coreo you can build apps that:
1. Allow you and your users to collect and submit data from anywhere
2. Contain ID guides that may feature images, audio and video files
3. Allow users to see their own data and interact with other people's data, where relevant. Often this will be on a map within the app, where records can also be made interactive
4. Feature engagement tools such as leaderboards
5. Feature social tools to catalyse the building of communities. Like, share and comment on records. Follow key people and build up your own following.
6. Enable you to update your content at any time
Coreo also includes the admin level tools you need to manage your project's users and records. You can edit, verify, exchange (with other systems) and export data submitted by your apps. And if you want to import existing datasets into Coreo, you can do. Build an app to bring an existing collection of records back to life and collect more information to make the data more useful.
This project recognises that there are many people, projects and organisations both within the UK and globally that would benefit from this technology but which do not have the resources. Where building native apps takes many months, with Coreo you are able to output equivalent products in a matter of days or hours."
