Medici: Augmented Quantitative Motor Function Assessment

"This project is a collaboration between a UK technology company and a leading UK university (Vitrue Health, Oxford University).

Its vision is to overhaul the way we assess musculoskeletal conditions in clinical settings. This form of assessment is used across a wide array of the most common and costly conditions in healthcare and is predictive of morbidity, mortality, functional decline and need for home care assistance.

The project will introduce innovations in autonomous motor function test detection and clinical assessment algorithms leading to a system for augmented assessment of patient motor function in acute clinical settings. The project will allow for the development of these technologies into a market ready device with clinical design input and validation from the academic collaborator.

Ultimately the goal of this project is to provide clinicians with the strong foundation they need to make the best decisions in MSK healthcare."
