Libertine FPE powertrain generator
Lead Participant:
LIBERTINE FPE LIMITED
Abstract
Libertine FPE has developed an innovative engine-generator concept that will offer 37-47% fuel conversion efficiency at lower cost than existing technologies. Farm scale biogas power generation is the first commercial application, and is currently under development with seed funding from a UK agricultural business. Beyond this ‘beachhead’ application there is a good fit for the concept in high volume, low carbon automotive applications. Libertine needs to define, evaluate and articulate the business and technical propositions in automotive applications to attract the funding necessary to exploit this opportunity beyond 2012. This feasibility study will quantify the technical performance and potential cost position of the concept in two alternative automotive applications, and will compare this to existing technologies to demonstrate the concept’s sources of competitive advantage.
