Indoor Everywhere

Consumers are yet to feel the full benefits of indoor positioning. To facilitate richer, more immersive user experiences indoor positioning should have room level accuracy (or better) and be available in every public space. Wifi is the technology that can achieve this and many companies are rushing to create Wifi signal fingerprints of indoor spaces as well as the algorithms that can turn real-time signals into reliable and accurate locations. But, there is a problem: no-one can add new sites fast enough to establish dominance and bring the consumer the benefits of consolidation. The market remains annoyingly fragmented. We propose a new way to fingerprint buildings at high speed and will investigate the feasibility of the method and the possible business that can be built on it.
