New Techniques for the rapid characterisation of low-level waste and surface contamination

Lead Participant: SYMETRICA SECURITY LTD

Abstract

This study will explore the feasibility of adapting Symetrica's spectral-processing techniques for use in the Nuclear Power Industry. If this is successful, we expect that the process of decommissioning old plant will procede more rapidly and in a more cost-effective way. We also believe that it will also provide an improved level of security in newly built plant. This technology is currently playing a very important, and growing role in protecting ports and border crossings in several different countries around the world.
