Early Detection of Lameness in Dairy Cows through Multi-format Data Synthesis

Lead Participant: AGRITHERM LIMITED

Abstract

The Agritherm project aims to predict the early detection of lameness in dairy cows through the use of multi-format data synthesis. Primary data on the condition of the feet of individual cows is captured through the use of thermography and then integrated with apparently unconnected data
from the same cow. The combined data is screened to identify, as early as possible, lameness in individual cows since it is well established that treatment of lameness is most effective from both a veterinary and commercial perspective when applied as soon as possible after identification.
