Computational Functional Annotation of Crop Genomics using Hierarchical Orthologous Groups
Lead Research Organisation:
University College London
Department Name: Genetics Evolution and Environment
Abstract
Hierarchical Orthologous Groups (HOGs) provide nested groups of genes that make it possible to compare highly
diverged and similar species in a consistent way. Despite the large number of function prediction projects there is
currently no tool capable of exploiting this rich source of information. This project aims to provide such a tool and use it to
mine crop genome data and improve functional annotation.
