Search for neutrinoless double beta decay in Phase I of SNO+
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Oxford
Department Name: Oxford Physics
Abstract
The thesis work will involve the calibration and analysis of the Phase I data set of SNO+ to search for neutrinoless double beta decay. This will entail work at the experimental site, the further development and operation of a laser-based calibration system, and development of software for simulation and data analysis. Esther will take on various responsibilities as part of various relevant working groups within the larger collaboration and actively participate in meetings and decision making for the experiment.

Results and Impact | There was a exhibit on the SNO experiment following the nobel prize awarded to Art MacDonald which toured the UK. For a while, it was based in Oxford and as I'm working on SNO+, I took groups of the general public, school groups, scout groups, etc, around the exhibit and talked them through it the experiment and answered their questions. |
