Abstract
The project involves the use of numerical relativity to solve outstanding problems in cosmology with strong gravity. There are several primary science targets. (1) Understanding and simulating the formation of black hole solutions in lorentz violating theories of gravity (2) understanding the dynamics of modified gravity theories in the strong gravity regime (3) computing gravitational signatures of these theories in order to test for them using aLIGO and eLISA.
