NGCW Programme

Lead Participant: QINETIQ LIMITED

Abstract

NGCW will develop and validate technologies appropriate to the next generation Airbus single aisle aircraft.
In order to deliver the NGCW Programme, Airbus UK has brought together a Consortium of 19 UK aerospace partners from across the UK supply chain. The Consortium has submitted a bid for funding into the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) Spring 2007 Competition and is awaiting final confirmation that the bid has been approved. The Consortium is also seeking funding from the Regional Development
Agencies (RDAs) and Devolved Assemblies (DAs).
The total cost of the NGCW programme is £105 million over 3 years, with a launch date of 151 October 2007 (the TSB announced in late September that they were 'minded to provide support to NGCW' at the financial level sought by Airbus. Consortium partners will fund 50% of the NGCW Programme costs (£52.5 million), with the other 50% anticipated from government (26% or £26.8 million from the TSB and 24% or £25.7 million from the RDAs/DAs).
As an integral part of the NGCW Programme, a consortium of four companies within the South East of England (referred to as the South East Aerospace Cluster; SEAC) is seeking £2.6 million co-investment from SEEDA over 3 years.
