Solar radio emissions and wave wave and wave particle interactons in the heliosphere

Lead Research Organisation: University of Glasgow
Department Name: School of Physics and Astronomy

Abstract

The physics of the solar system plasma in the near Sun environment and further into space the heliosphere is studies by means of in situ observations of particles and fields and low frequency radio emission and supported by theoretical calculations of the plasma wave wave particle and particle transport processes that link the sun to space. THe project aims to improve our understanding of the processes in the inner helioisphere using solar radio emissions observations from the next generation of the Low Frequency Array LOFAR
