Modelling of exoplanet atmospheres using a complete chemical kinetics network
Lead Research Organisation:

Department Name: Institute of Astronomy
Abstract
The goal of this project is to create a modular program that, when given inputs in the form of a pressure-temperature profile and a network of chemical reactions for the atmosphere, can predict the abundances of the molecules in the atmosphere. Additionally, through the use of a simple 1-D atmosphere model, the effects of eddy diffusion will be examined. The eventual aim is to create an increasingly sophisticated model, which can work with any planet type and atmospheric composition.
