Abstract
In this project, I am primarily tasked with the delivery of FOURIER, the Free-space Optical multi-apertUre combineR for IntERferometry. FOURIER will be the first generation near-infrared science beam combiner at the Magdalena ridge observatory interferometer. In line with the goals of the MROI project, the system is being designed to have as high a throughput as possible to allow routine observations of faint interferometric targets. As a secondary objective, I am also interested in studying the inner few au around intermediate-mass pre-main sequence objects, Herbig stars, with optical interferometry.
