Abstract
Katherine will be investigating the creation of high energy jets of particles in proton-proton collisions. In most proton proton collisions two jets of particles are produced. By measuring the mass of each pair of jets. Katherine will be searching for excited quarks, quantum black holes and additional bosons that appear as a peak in the mass spectrum or as a deviation from the predictions of the standard model. This will include searching for a dark matter mediator particle (similar to an additional Z boson). Limits will be improved by implementing quark-gluon jet selections to the analysis.
