Sexual minority health inequities across the lifecourse: a multi-method, multi-dataset investigation
Lead Research Organisation:
University College London
Department Name: Epidemiology and Public Health
Abstract
My PhD project aims to use existing large longitudinal surveys, including birth cohorts, to examine the following questions: 1) do sexual minority populations experience health inequities across the lifecourse? 2) to what extend does the Health Equity Promotion model proposed by Fredriksen-Goldsen et al. (2014) explain sexual minority health outcomes? 3) to what extent can we understand sexual minority populations to be resilient in the context of mental and physical health? The eventual aim is to use cross-cohort comparison and meta analysis techniques, as well as a novel technique of lifecourse narrative construction, to examine these questions.
