Abstract
The project will involve the development of new, highly efficient, and general methods for the total synthesis of structirally complex natural producrs of marine origin that contain multiple fused rings, stereogenic centres and sensitive functionality. Synthetic methods involving ring expansion reactions will be applied to the rapid, concise and efficient syntheses of the core structures of structurally challenging and biologically active marine natural products.
