Multiscale and Data-Driven Simulation of Wildfires for the Protection of Rural Communities Worldwide
Lead Research Organisation:
Imperial College London
Department Name: Mechanical Engineering
Abstract
The aim of this proposal is to advance the understanding and computational simulation of wildfires spread across scales, from the burning of grass and trees to megafires. This will be achieved through the combination of data-driven simulation approaches, latest flame spread theory, and artificial intelligence. The results will boost prediction skills of wildfire, risk quantification for rural communities worldwide, and inform the emergency response.
