Operando XES studies of Prussian Blue Analogue Battery Materials
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Southampton
Department Name: Sch of Chemistry
Abstract
X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES) provides site selective characterisation and this will be applied to the study of Prussian blue analogue materials, which have applications as ion storage (lithium, sodium, potassium, and zinc) cathodes in rechargeable battery applications. The student will prepare a library of materials, characterise them using UV-visible spectroscopy, XRD, SEM, EXAFS, and XES. The more promising materials will then be studied under operando conditions to provide insights in to structure property relationships in such battery materials.
