Manufacture by Critical Processes Ltd of innovative high value natural products from plant materials using clean technology

We have developed processes to obtained innovative natural products on a small, laboratory
and pilot scale from plant materials. These are clean processes with environmental benefit. As
we have the know-how for these processes, our customers would like us to manufacture these
on a larger scale. The most important product is an epicatechin-rich extract from apple, which
has applications as pharmaceuticals. We need therefore to show that we can produce these
novel materials on a multi-kilogram scale and at a reasonable price for customers to evaluate
and test. We would design, build and develop equipment on an intermediate scale to
demonstrate this ability. Manufacture on a full scale could then be carried out later as the
market expands. Our aim is to develop our business from being a research contractor to
become also a manufacturer of specialised, high-value products, enhancing the economy of
North Yorkshire and providing new employment.
