Abstract

Most doctors believe that our daily intake of sodium chloride (salt) is too high and therefore detrimental to our health. The UK government has set a target to reduce the recommended maximum daily salt intake from the current 6g (2.4g of sodium) to 5g (2g of sodium) by the end of 2013.Our sodium free salt will allow consumers to use a condiment that will deliver a genuine salty taste to foods that benefit from the addition of salt (e.g. fish and chips) without increasing their intake of sodium chloride.
