Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.
 
Description We used this travel grant to send scientists from my group to a collaborating lab in Bethesda USA - Prof. Teresa Dunn. We developed structural and functional studies of the enzyme target. We also used this grant to collaborate and publish with a leading Japanese group.
Exploitation Route We also used the funding to attend Deater Family meetings - a family affected by a rare neuropathic disease HSN1.

Description This was a travel grant that allowed me to visit my USA collaborators in Washington DC and attend the key scientific meetings in the sphingolipid field.
