| Description | The Partnership award was also used to establish collaborations with other US academic Institutes. These included Y. Geno Shi, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Endocrinology Division, Boston to initiate investigations on the role of 5' hydroxy methyl cytosine (5'HMC) modification in cancer. Similarly, collaborations were also established with James M. Pipas, Professor, Herbert W. and Grace Boyer Chair in Molecular Biology, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, to initiate a research project on viromes in chickens. Collaboration was also established with Andrew Read, Director, Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics, Alumni Professor in the Biological Sciences and Professor of Entomology, The Pennsylvania State University USA that led to the successful award of a grant application by NIH and BBSRC to examine the role of vaccines in driving the virulence. |
