Description This 3-day workshop held under the auspices of the BBSRC funded NIBB "PHYCONET" at the Cawthron Institute Nelson, New Zealand provided an opportunity for UK researchers and industry leaders working in the algal biotechnology field to network with their counterparts in New Zealand. The workshop involved formal presentations, informal networking and discussion events, and visits to local companies and facilities in the Nelson area. A number of on-going UK-NZ collaborations have been established as a result of the workshop, adding an important International dimension to PHYCONET's activities and impact.
Exploitation Route This year, a similar workshop will be held at the Institute of Hydrobiology, Wuhan, China to held establish bilateral collaborations between algal researchers in the UK and China.
