Description This was a very small grant to travel to NZ and investigate comparisons between regenerative livestock farming approaches in NZ and the UK. I have presented my findings to farming and to academic audiences and in NZ shared my findings from the SEEGSLIP project (funded by UKRI). I found that NZ agriculture; remains dominated by a production agenda, depends fundamentally on non-native (relatively recently introduced) agricultural species and on a relatively smaller number of farmers. I came home to the UK and was grateful for our farming culture and our landscapes.
Exploitation Route I will publish, the findings are highly relevant for academia and policy. I hope that I had some influence on those I met - I travelled widely and met many from academia, NGO's and policy as well as farmers and farmer bodies.

Description Learnings from SEEGSLIP transferred to NZ actors; academia, NGO's, policy, farmers, farm advisors. I gave presentations to DairyNZ, and Lincoln and Massey Universities and talked informally with many actors during workshops and interviews. Farmers were encouraged to consider biodiversity of their swards and its importance to the ecological functions of land. Academics were encouraged to work alongside bodies like Quorum Sense and take into account the motivations and wider social aspects of farming. I can't vouch for exactly how it's been used.
